Problem description:
The current efforts in industry aim to reduce the carbon footprint. One of the strategies is to reuse waste, or use the secondary raw materials separated from waste.
Well-aware of the secondary raw material separation problems, Jan Nečas’s team from VŠB-TUO focused on improved separation of raw materials from bulk mixed waste (e.g. crushed electric cables). To be able to use the mixed waste as secondary raw materials, maximum separation and maximum purity of the discrete constituents are needed (metal, plastics, etc.)
