  • We are expanding the range of subjects with environmental topics applicable to the university's core technical focus."

We popularize science and technology

  • We offer a variety of technical educational programs both in schools and in the specialized classrooms and laboratories at VSB-TUO.
  • For employees' children, we organize various clubs and day camps. In 2021, we also launched the Junior University, which is designed for all curious boys and girls who are interested in technology and natural sciences. We have prepared programs of varying levels of difficulty from many fields.

Akce pro malé i velké

  • We never miss an opportunity to present our science and technology to the public. You can find us at major festivals such as Colours of Ostrava and their discussion forum Meltingpot, or at the Festival in the Streets. We are one of the national coordinators of the Researchers' Night.
  • We present science, technology, and our study programs to audiences of all ages: for children, we organize the Improve Your Tech Day, for high school graduates, we offer Open Days, and for secondary school students, we have our very own university festival, Art & Science.

We have science learning centers

  • VSB-TUO also includes educational centers that are open to the public. These are the Planetarium Ostrava and the Geological Pavilion, which are part of the Faculty of Mining and Geology.
  • They offer not only excursions but also a variety of educational programs.

VSB-TUO has its own museum

  • On December 1, 2020, VŠB-TUO established the University Museum, which offers fascinating information about the collection of artworks that we walk past every day on campus.
  • All our museum exhibits are in their usual locations, and as a collection, they are only gathered virtually.

  • We support our students and staff in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and the VSB campus is equipped with numerous sports facilities.
