Subject syllabus

1. Study at VŠB-TU Ostrava. Presentation of the university and its workplaces. Department of Quality Management and its Academic Staff.
2. University Information Systems, Important Web Applications (Edison, Learning Management System, Library, etc.).
3. Basic concepts of quality management. The importance of quality management in the 21st century. Quality Management Terminology.
4. Historical development of quality management. Significant personalities and their contribution to the development of the field.
5. Principles of quality management. Process model and its applications.
6. Quality Management System of VŠB-TU Ostrava. ISO portal and basic study related documents.
7. Use of statistical methods in quality management. Theory of probability and mathematical statistics.
8. Product and process quality planning, procedures and principles. Tools for quality planning and continuos improvement.
9. Process quality control and improvement. Statistical process control.
10. Computer Aided Quality Management. Presentation of selected software and its possible use in quality management.
11. Human factor in quality management. Basic principles of human resource management in an organization.
12. Knowledge Management, Principles and Procedures. From learning organozation to knowledge society.
13. Conformity assessment, testing and certification. Basic legislation and concepts of metrology.
14. Content of work of graduates in the field of quality management. Practical experience of graduates in the field of quality management.
