k+ studentopolis:

the programme that supports
active and enterprising students

What is the k+ studentopolis programme

In autumn 2023, a new programme was created to support students' free-time activities aimed at improving the quality of social life at the university and beyond. The programme supports the development of student entrepreneurship at the university. This is a competition of student projects outside of their teaching, but nothing prevents students from collaborating with teachers on their project.

The goal is to support the student community in cultural, social, sports and volunteer activities, thus creating a supportive environment for students that will help them better integrate into student life, develop skills and achieve success.

How the programme works

The k+ studentopolis programme always starts in the fall. From September, students can submit their ideas. It is important to enter your project into the EPZ system so that it meets the necessary requirements. Then there will be an evaluation, when the Evaluation Committee will select the projects that will be supported. The maximum financial support for 1 project can be up to 50,000. CZK.

For students from winning projects, we organize an introductory meeting and provide support in the implementation or "distribution" of the idea further. During the projects, we try to give students maximum freedom, but also responsibility for their actions. Student projects are primarily implemented until the end of the given academic year.

The meaning of the k+ studentopolis programme

The k+ studentopolis programme is an opportunity. An opportunity to discover and awaken entrepreneurship, creativity, try to implement a project from start to finish, including the associated administration and overcoming obstacles. Entrepreneurship means the art of looking for opportunities, not being afraid to make a mistake, but at the same time the ability to learn from your mistakes.

It is also the art of working with risk, working together in a team, thinking creatively, being aware of the consequences of your actions and taking responsibility for them. The k+ studentopolis programme aims to further develop all these abilities in students.

What students say

Marie Graclíková

Thanks to the programme, I learned a lot of things, to communicate, to organize not only myself and my activities, but also other people. These are experiences that you will appreciate during your studies and not only will you write them down in your CV, but most importantly you will enrich yourself. You learn to solve problems, you learn to get along with people. It's a great opportunity to make your dreams come true, earn money, learn something new, and benefit the people around you.

Eliška Dreveniaková

This project brought me a lot of experience. I had the opportunity to engage and improve my organizational skills, time management, communication in the team, but also planning and creativity. For the first time, I encountered the subsidy drawing system, which also involved documenting the use of money, attaching invoices and the like. Last but not least, I tried promoting the event for the first time through social networks, posters, videos and flyers. I would highlight the great people who helped me plan, came up with great ideas.

Vladislav Glogar

As part of the k+ studentopolis programme, I learned how to tackle projects in an academic environment and I also got a lot of contacts, which is great. Because as they say, contacts make contracts. Thanks to this opportunity and the realization of my project, I even made contact with one of our speakers and thus got the opportunity to work in one of the great startups in Ostrava, Nilmore Textile. So if you have an idea in your head, don't hesitate and sign up. It's worth it!

How to get involved
