Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |

The goal of the subject is to discuss the methodological foundations related to the organization design, to identify organization problems,suggest the organisation structure and evaluate organisation measures. |
Course Contents |
---|
1.Terminology and importance of organizational design. Principles and definitions. Methodological basis and approaches to the organizational design.
2. Model and information technology of organizational design. Software applications, description, structure.
3. Model and software applications for analysis of factors affecting organizational structure. Components and factors: Organizational size, organizational life cycle, environment, strategy, technology; globalization.
4. Traditional organizational structure versus contemporary organizational structure. Concepts, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages.
5. Objectives of organizational design and structure of organizational design. Organizational design as a decision-making process.
6. Organizational diagnostics. Objectives, core frameworks and methods.
7. Design of positions/titles and departments. Job specialization, formalization of behavior, education and training.
8. Organizational chart. Levels/steps of decision making. Centralization, decentralization, pitfalls in the delegation process.
9. Leadership and management standards, definition, roles, and implementation.
10. Social climate and organizational culture.
11. Human resources management and its relationship with the organization. Human Resources responsibilities.
12. Human resources role and its alignment with the corporate strategy. Application of methods and approaches used in the process of employee performance evaluation.
13. Workflow, processes and procedures. Methods and models applied for organizing the processes. Model and computer support for process analysis and design.
14. Evaluation of organizational performance. Approaches and methods fot evaluating performance of the organization.
