Smarter Systematic Reviews: Text Data Extraction with Scite AI

Join us for a hands-on workshop designed to help researchers, academics, and students integrate SCITE into their writing and research workflows.

We would like to invite you to a hands-on workshop focused on text data extraction from scholarly articles when writing a systematic review, using the Scite AI assistant, taking place on March 9, 2026, from 12.30-14.00 in UK 220.

The workshop will demonstrate how Scite can support evidence synthesis by analysing groups of articles, extracting relevant information, and helping researchers work more efficiently with large volumes of literature. The emphasis will be on realistic, research-oriented use, not promotional claims about AI.

Participants will learn:

• how to use Scite to analyse and compare multiple articles at once,

• how AI-assisted data extraction can support the systematic review process,

• how to integrate Scite into existing research and writing workflows.

The workshop will combine a short demonstration with a hands-on session and discussion of use cases. Before the workshop, please register with Scite via the VSB-TUO Central Library webpage. Go to Study and research support – Useful tools – Scite – Open Scite. To sign up, use your university email.

The workshop is intended for academic staff (researchers and lecturers), as well as PhD students. It is suitable for beginners; no prior experience is necessary.

Please bring your laptops and your current projects so that you can work with the tools.

Lecturers: Mgr. Kamila Průšová a Mgr. Alena Kašpárková, Ph.D., M.A.

Sign up here.

The workshop is held within the project Staff development and student support at VŠB - TUO CZ.02.02.XX/00/23_022/0009115
