Marco Antoni is a Researcher at Fraunhofer ICT. After studying Physics at University of Karlsruhe (KIT, Diploma 2013), he did several years of public relations work for SMBs in automation, learning about everything from the smallest sensor and drives up to the cloud. Marco has been back in research since November 2024. His main professional interests lie in sustainability, technology and building systems to either see them work or learn why they don't. Privately, he likes to build and ride bicycles.

Researching energetic systems: How we make them more safe & resilient

Presentation abstract: Fraunhofer ICT researches chemical processes, polymers, energetic systems and explosives. This presentation focuses on our research to improve safety and resilience of energetic systems, i.e. systems that contain reactive fluids or solids, including Hydrogen. From lab to plant scale. From design to failure behavior and safe disposal. From short (seconds) to long (10+ years) term. We design, simulate and investigate the behavior of test facilities, burning chambers, pressure vessels, ...
