Is the additive (re)manufacturing of spare parts worthwhile?

Presentation abstract: Since the reliability of global supply chains is increasingly being called into question, additive manufacturing and the restoration of components are once again coming to the fore. Two case studies will be used to illustrate the approach to manufacturing and remanufacturing, from the initial idea to implementation. However, an economic assessment will also show the conditions under which spare parts manufacturing is worthwhile, and the question will be examined as to whether certain component groups could become profitable in the future despite higher costs.
