Principles of Effective Reading and Writing

Anotace

The course covers the fundamentals of academic writing and stylistics for creating clear and engaging texts.
Students will analyze professionally written articles to study sentence and paragraph organization, style, and logical flow.
They will practice summarizing and paraphrasing texts and will also give and receive peer feedback to assess the effectiveness of the techniques taught.
The goals for the course are to (1) become more proficient in applying stylistic practices by evaluating and practicing principles of academic writing; (2) learn how to give constructive feedback; and (3) draft a motivation letter.

Entry requirements for the course: English B1 (and higher)
Requirements for course completion: 80% in-class session attendance + completion of tasks in LMS
