This course supports students in writing and publishing their research papers as it accompanies them along the whole process.
They learn about the structure of all sections of a research paper and how to communicate with journal gatekeepers (editors and reviewers).
Moreover, students learn about the visual aspects of the text, i.e., figures, tables, and graphical abstracts. Throughout the course they receive feedback on their work and revise accordingly.
The goals for the course are to (1) to engage in an effective professional writing process that includes effective time management, goal setting, and regular writing time; (2) develop the competences of giving and receiving feedback; (3) learn to communicate with the journal gatekeepers (editors and reviewers); (4) draft and revise a research journal article; and finally (5) produce a high-quality manuscript ready for publication.
