As high-quality research relies on good data management both in academia and industry, researchers need to learn to manage their data throughout the whole research cycle.
Data Stewardship is one of the three courses developed during the DocEnhance project. The module is fully online and self-paced. Participants acquire both theoretical and practical skills in data management, all the way from data acquisition to data publication. The main target group for the module is early-career researchers, but it is open to all researchers.
On the completion of Module 1, participants should be able to:
- Articulate the background and rationale for good research data management.
- Describe basic terminology for research data management.
- Apply theoretical knowledge of the research data management life cycle to concrete projects.
- Discuss the purpose and advantages of transparency and open science with peers, the larger scholarly community, and non-academic collaborators.
