English for Grants and Projects

The course provides practical instruction and support for doctoral students in writing their projects and grant applications in English.
First, students learn the key vocabulary and phrases and they find out about the culture-related aspects of written texts, i.e. the differences when writing in different cultures, specifically the particularities of an English-medium text.
Students also learn about the differences between academic and project writing, and they become familiar with the structure of a project proposal.
Additionally, the course focuses on key aspects of a successful project application process such as understanding the terms and conditions/ project documentation, writing for target audiences, understanding the review process, and learning from the evaluators' feedback.
In the course, students write and revise their grant abstract/ application and present the grant idea.
