The 33rd FEI Journal Club will focus on the field of bioengineering and how the intersection of biology, technology, and engineering contributes to addressing current challenges in human health.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Christine-Maria Horejs, editor-in-chief of *Nature Reviews Bioengineering*, a journal that publishes review articles, perspectives, and commentaries covering a broad spectrum of bioengineering. She focuses primarily on applications, technological development, and the translation of research findings into practice.
Christine Horejs has been with Springer Nature since 2017. During her career, she has worked, among other roles, as an editor for the journals *Nature Reviews Materials* and *Nature Nanotechnology*, where she focused on biomaterials, nanomedicine, and nanobiotechnology. She has been the editor-in-chief of *Nature Reviews Bioengineering* since 2022.
The lecture will offer insights into current trends in bioengineering and how scientific knowledge progresses from basic research to practical applications.
