Dieter Weise, German scientist and Deputy Director of the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform will present the international joint research project FutureFacade - combination of individualised design and solar thermal energy through the use of a new forming process for metallic facade elements. "In the current discourse on energy transition, decentralised renewable energy production methods are increasingly coming into focus. Ideally, energy should be converted where it is actually used. Therefore, the FutureFacade project focuses on the development of a modern solar-thermal facade system," Weise outlined the main topic his presentation.
His Ostrava colleague Lukáš Halagačka, Head of the Laboratory of Physics of Nanostructures, will focus on the preparation and use of layered nanomaterials. "Thin layer deposition and nanostructuring using lithographic processes are fundamental building blocks of the complex optical, photonic, and microelectronic systems we encounter in everyday life," Halagačka outlines one of the directions of his presentation.
The online seminar, led in English, will start at 2pm, and those interested can register now via the online form.
The Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Applied Artificial Intelligence for Materials and Manufacturing at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava was founded last June. The FIP Academy is a platform for sharing scientific knowledge and experience between scientists from the participating institutions.
