Compete with your scientific project at the Falling Walls Lab Czech Republic 2024
The participants' presentations are conducted in English using the 'pitch-talk' format, which lasts a maximum of three minutes. Whether it's a topic in computer science or medicine, economics or mechanical engineering, philosophy, robotics, chemistry, art, or agriculture - the competition is open to anyone who is passionate about their idea and can convince others of its merit. Students of all levels are welcome, including PhD and postdocs.
Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older when submitting your application. There is no upper age limit for applicants. You must fulfil at least one of the following formal requirements:
- You are currently enrolled in university and/or are currently a postdoc.
- You received a Bachelor’s degree no more than 10 years ago.
- You received a Master’s degree no more than 7 years ago.
- You received a PhD no more than 5 years ago.
What can you win as a participant?
- A trip to Berlin! (transportation and accommodation provided).
- Participation in the global final of Falling Walls Lab in Berlin, where you will compete for the title of Breakthrough Winner of the Year in the Emerging Talents category of Falling Walls.
- Participation in the prestigious Falling Walls Science Summit conference, where leaders in science, business, and legislation gather.
- Access to inspiring meetings with other participants of the Falling Walls Science Summit conference.
- Participation in several exclusive workshops and events.

Importan dates
- The deadline for applications for Falling Walls Lab Czech Republic is 30 June 2024.
- The Czech round of Falling Walls Lab will take place in the afternoon of 12 September 2024 in Prague at the National Technical Library!
- The winner of the national round will represent the Czech Republic at the global final in Berlin, which is regularly held on the eve of the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. This year it will take place on 7 - 9 November 2024.
Falling Walls Lab in the Czech Republic is organised by the DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service in cooperation with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Prague and the National Technical Library. The event is further supported by CzechInvest, the Contact Office of the Free State of Saxony, and the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria. Academic partners include the Technical University of Liberec, Charles University, the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) at Brno University of Technology, and Czech Technical University in Prague.
