Data management planning is now a part of the everyday life of researchers. However a lot of us in research sometimes feel lost with all the requirements. In this seminar we will explore how a data management plan (DMP) looks like, why it is useful and important for a project, and how researchers can be prepared to answer questions related to their datasets in the DMP.
Benefits for participants: Participants will be guided through the advantages of a DMP and its value as a living document. They will also gain insight into how to complete sections of a DMP, such as metadata standards, data formats, and data transformation.

Prerequisites: No prior knowledge is required. If participants are already required to provide a DMP, it is helpful to be aware of any data management requirements for their projects so that they can relate the information presented to their own use cases.

Georgia Koutentaki, MEng., is a chemical engineer from Greece currently holding the position of the data steward for STEM disciplines within the National Repository Platform of the Czech Republic, operating under the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) at the Czech Technical University in Prague. At the same time, she acts as the data steward at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT Prague) as part of UCT’s data stewards support team. She is finalizing her PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering at UCT Prague, working in the Bioengineering and Advanced Materials Laboratory. Georgia is actively involved in both national and international initiatives that promote good scientific practices and open science. She is also a member of the Czech Data Steward Community and the founder of its STEM sub-community.
