The Resilient Water Innovation for Smart Economy (REWAISE) project brings together leading European water stakeholders, not only from industry but also from academia (24 stakeholders from 11 countries, led by FCC Aqualia, Spain). The project addresses technological, legal, social and financial challenges to make alternative water resources of different qualities more accessible and usable. The project solution will contribute to the transition of society towards a water-smart economy in line with EU water, climate and environmental policies. The involvement of the Faculty of Mining and Geology is mainly in the areas of low-energy desalination and the use of mine water in the Moravian-Silesian Region, and the extraction of minerals from these waters.
