The validity of the standard student and identification card is not extended and is governed by the existence of a valid relationship with the university (student/employee).
The validity of ISIC, ITIC, Alive cards is extended only digitally from the academic year 2024/2025. You just need to pay for the extension via EPS or come to the Card Centrr to pay for the extension.
After making the payment, the validity will be automatically extended - this process can take 2 working days. The price for the extension is indicated in the price list. To be able to make an extension, you need to be enrolled in the academic year for which the extension is made.
If ODISka is also integrated in the card, extending the ISIC "remotely" does not automatically extend the ODIS student profile! This cannot be done without a physical visit to the VSB-TUO card center, the DPO machine or the Kodis info center.
To prove your entitlement to the discount, you must present a valid card – either plastic or digital (Alive App)..
The plastic card can be used until the end of its printed validity. Since the validity of the plastic card is not visually adjusted with digital revalidation and the extension of validity is displayed on the digital card, the digital card must be used.
Validity of the card can be verified
The card can be blocked via the web or by contacting the Card Centre. To issue a new card it is necessary to come to the Card Centre during working hours. Issuance of a duplicate is charged according to the price list.
If you own a card with ODIS functionality, you need to block the card via the website or at the ODIS contact point. After issuing a new card with ODIS functionality, it is possible to transfer what was on the original ODIS card (e.g. coupon) at the ODIS contact point.
Please come to the Card Centre with your ID card. We will check if there is a problem with the chip. It is guaranteed for 2 years. The warranty does not cover mechanical damage to the card.
If a duplicate card is issued see the price list (if the exchange is not covered by the warranty or the card was issued more than 5 years ago).
You don't have to go to Ostrava. You can arrange everything at the place of study
Just contact your study officer who will arrange everything. However, you must inform her of the type of card you require hand over the photo and if necessary pay a fee for the card (eg for an ISIC).
It is necessary to hand over the ID photo to the study assistant. On the back of the photo must be a unique identifier of the person - personal number at VŠB or surname, name and date of birth. In the case of digital photo it can be send by email.
Other requirements correspond to the usual requirements for photography:
You have been issued with a key fob for your card, here are some tips on how to use it.
The key fob has the same functionality as the card, so if you lose it, you need to block it as soon as possible to prevent its misuse, either on the website or at the Card Centre.
Compared to the card, the key fob has a lower reading distance (approx. 50%) due to its smaller size. And if the reader is placed on a metal base it may not work with the key fob at all. In this case, the key fob should be placed tightly on the surface of the reader, or the key fob should be used to find a suitable place on the reader (centre, corners, edges). Alternatively, if possible, lift the reader (distance it from the metal base - 3-5 cm is sufficient).
Because the key fob does not contain visual identification of the authorized owner, like a card, some University services may be unavailable (e.g. in the Central Library).
It is necessary to come to the Card Centre persally (with an employee / student card). The keychain will be issued after a fee payment (see Price list). It is possible to pay in cash at the Card Centre or cashless via EPS (https://eps.vsb.cz).
The photo is displayed on the card information page. To save it in most browsers, just right-click on the photo and select Save image as...
Recommended Action:
The photo can only be changed when a new card is issued - the same photo must be in the system and on the card. If a new card is issued and the photo in the system is older than 5 years or the appearance has changed, a new photo will be required.
