You can use SafeQ to print from your own PC. Prints can be made from the PC that are not physically at the university. However it is necessary to be connected to the university network - for example, using VPN or wi-fi on campus.

Download and install SafeQ-PCL-cz-en.exe (also for 64-bit OS).

After install should be in your system new printer SafeQ tisk-PCL.

There are two ways how to print from Linux OS:

• without SafeQ Client
  • you have to be logged in you operating system with a user name corresponding personal number
  • add new printer - type Ricoh Aficio MP C2500, MP C2800 or similar
  • set
    • protocol: LPD 
    • server: safeqtisk.vsb.cz
    • queue: secure
    • adress: lpd://safeqtisk.vsb.cz/secure

• using java SafeQ Clienta
  • add new printer (as describe above)
  • download SafeQ Client. You have to had java installled.
  • run SafeQClient (java -jar SafeQClient.jar)
  • when you send a print job to a printer a dialog window for setting user name and password is shown

To send a print job to the server and then print it you need to install a printer in the system (described below). Furthermore, the server must be able to correctly identify the user who is printing.

To identify the owner of a print job you need to use one of the following options:

• The user account on the system should be named the same as the personal number of the person who wants to print it
• If the account name does not match the personal number it is possible to change the server address to abc1234@safeqtisk.vsb.cz:515 (abc1234 corresponds to the personal number).
• It is possible to install MAC OS SafeQ Client (in this case the printer address must be set to sqport://safeqtisk.vsb.cz/secure - see below)

• The last option is to go use the Java application SafeQ Client. You must have java installed to use it. Commissioning procedure:
  • the printer settings listed below will be made
  • SafeQClient application starts (java -jar SafeQClient.jar)
  • After sending the job to print, a window for entering the user name and password is displayed

Black and white printing

It probably works on all devices connected to SafeQ.

It is necessary to install a printer with this setting:

• printer type: Generic PCL printer
• address: safeqtisk.vsb.cz (When using the MAC OS SafeQ Client, the printer address must be set to sqport://safeqtisk.vsb.cz/secure)
• queue: secure
• protocol: LPD

Color printing

• On older devices that only support the PCL printing language it is required to install this software :
  • pxlmono 1.9
  • Foomatic-RIP
  • Ghostscript
  • Gutenprint 5.2.9
  • file Ricoh-Aficio_MP_C2051-pxlcolor-Ricoh.ppd - shlould be a part of Gutenprint
  • configuration
    
    • printer: Ricoh Aficio MP C2051 PXL

According to the latest information the above SW is not available for newer versions of MAC OS.

Barevný tisk je v tomto případě možný pouze na modernějších zařízeních, které podporují rovněž tiskové protokoly PS a PDF (stroje RICOH M3000 a výše, Konica Minolta).

Depending on which printer we want to print on, we will look for the necessary driver. For horseshoe eg model C258, for RICOH eg MP C3004

You can send document, excel file, picture or pdf file directry to email address .

It is neccesery to send email from your university email or from email registered in UnIS (Emails section E-mail for printing).

Use card to access print device (or use your login and password) and print the job.

You can upload file to print over web https://safeqtisk.vsb.cz/m. After file upload it is neccessary to wait (from several seconds to minutes - server makes transformation of document).
