What is BIP?

Blended intensive programmes are short, intensive programmes that use innovative ways of learning and teaching, including the use of online cooperation.

During these blended intensive programmes, groups of students or staff will undertake a short-term physical mobility abroad combined with a compulsory virtual component facilitating collaborative online learning exchange and teamwork. The virtual component must bring the learners together online to work collectively and simultaneously on specific assignments that are integrated in the blended intensive programme and count towards the overall learning outcomes.

Basic conditions

Basic conditions

  • 5-30 days physical mobility combined with a virtual activity
  • virtual activity is mandatory
  • the credit extent of the course must be min. 3 ECTS
  • examples of BIP: summer schools, joint projects or intensive courses with a smaller number of students, etc.

A student who wants to participate in the BIP within the Erasmus + programme must meet the ERASMUS+ Programme Eligibility criteria and successfully complete the selection procedure at their faculty.

For more detailed information about the possibilities of the BIP, we recommend contacting the faculty coordinator first to find out information about these programmes.

How to apply

Application

The application is submitted in the IS EDISON.

Please contact your faculty coordinator to help you with the application process.

Financial support; bank account

Financing of the study stay abroad within the Erasmus+ Programme is provided by Grand Agreement.

Financing

The scholarship is allocated according to the length of physical mobility:

  • 1–14 days 79 EUR/day
  • 15–30 days 56 EUR/day

Bank account

The account must be maintained in the Czech Republic.

The student should verify in their bank that the bank accepts payments in EUR to their bank account, otherwise, it will not be possible to make a bank transfer.

Payment of the financial support

The scholarship is paid after the signing of the Grand Agreement (by the student and the sending institution).

Green Erasmus

The aim of Green Erasmus is to raise awareness of environmental issues and to implement projects in an environmentally sustainable way.

Environmentally friendly transport is considered to be: bus, train and carpooling (or a combination of these). If the student uses air travel for at least part of the journey, they will lose the right to this one-off allowance.

Environmentally friendly transport must be the main means of transport for each trip – there and back.

The one-off contribution is EUR 50.

Participants must keep evidence of such a journey (tickets) and send/bring that to the University International Office after the end of the mobility. The financial support will be paid after the documents have been checked.

Carpooling

In the case of carpooling, you wil be required to sign AFFIDATIV with the names of all the persons who shared the journey and proof that the journey actually took place (petrol receipt, toll receipts, etc.).

Travel insurance; grand agreement

Travel insurance

The conditions of the Erasmus + programme imply that the student is obliged to contract a medical insurance valid for the destination country for the duration of the stay abroad. It must include health insurance (medical expenses), liability insurance and accident insurance (for traineeship).

The student submits a copy of the contract or the original confirmation of the agreed travel insurance (from-to) for the entire period of study abroad to the Grand Agreement

Even if a student has a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), this does not mean that health care abroad is free. An EHIC issued in the Czech Republic in the EU covers necessary health care, under the conditions given by the local health system. In most countries, you pay extra for health care and medicines, the amounts can be very high, co-payment or medical transport back to the Czech Republic, which is not covered by health insurance, is paid. Therefore, the student must have travel insurance arranged before leaving for a study stay.

More information about health insurance - here

A student who participates in a study stay abroad within the Erasmus + program remains a student of a Czech university for the entire period of their stay at a foreign university.

Grand Agreement

We recommend to start the procedure of the signing of the Grand Agreement in advance (at least 2-3 weeks before departure). In case of late delivery of all documents, the scholarship may not be paid on time and the student may have complications with further administration.

Before departure, the student must be duly registered to study at EDISON, otherwise it will not be possible to generate a participant contract in the system.

Documents before your stay ends

After the end of the study stay, it is necessary to deliver:

Confirmation of Erasmus+ BIP stay

You have to have the Confirmation of Erasmus+ BIP stay confirmed at the foreign university before your departure. This document must bear the original signature and the original stamp and it must be issued and signed on the last day of your study stay, otherwise this confirmation will not be recognized at VSB-TUO.

Please remember to bring the confirmation to the University International Office no later than 14 days after the end of your study stay.

Final reports

After the Erasmus+ BIP stay is over, student is required to complete:

A) Final Report - EU Survey

Student will be sent an automatically generated email by the system on the day of the end of the mobility. The e-mail will be in Czech and English.

After clicking on the link provided in the email, the user will enter the questionnaire immediately. Fields marked with a red "*" are required - without them the report cannot be completed. Once the student has completed the report, click on "Submit" at the bottom of the report. In the upper right part, the report can be downloaded to PDF by clicking on "Download PDF version".

The mobility participant must complete the report on the website within 30 days from the end of the study stay. After filling in the report, we recommend that you immediately download the questionnaire to PDF and send it by e-mail to the University International Office.

B) Erasmus+ student mobility report: experience database

Please note that in this report, you pass on information to other students who want to go on mobility and can give them answers to their questions. Therefore, we recommend that you take care when completing this final report.

Please contact (even if your are not back in the Czech Republic)  your study department as soon as your study stay abroad is over.
