VSB - Technical University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for studies and internships in countries outside the EU in the academic year 2024/2025.

THE SELECTION PROCEDURE IS OPEN FOR:

  • winter semester 2024;
  • summer semester 2025;
  • the whole academic year 2024/2025

THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLIES TO:

  • studies abroad:
    • at partner universities where students are exempted from tuition fees, the list of partner universities and number of places available can be found in the Rector's order in Annex No. 1. (Czech language only).
  • practical internships at a university / foreign institution - students are looking for a foreign institution and agree on the conditions of the internship by themselves.
  • It is not allowed to apply for a mobility in the country of origin.

ORGANIZATION OF THE SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The selection procedure will take place in the form of a personal interview and checking of the documents. The interview will be held in English or in the main language of the mobility.

 SCHOLARSHIP:

  • The amount of the scholarship is assessed in the Rector's Order TUO_PRI_23_022 in Annex No. 2. (Czech language only). The daily / monthly rate is determined by a country. 
  • The amount of the scholarship for a practical internship or short-term studies in a country not listed in Annex No. 2 will be assessed individually according to the financial demands of the stay by the Vice-Rector for Study Affairs.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • a good knowledge of English or another language in which teaching / work takes place at the host institution is required; the minimum language level is set by the sending faculty or host institution (e.g. a partner university in Colombia requires knowledge of Spanish),

THE OFFER IS NOT INTENDED FOR:

  • students who are charged a study fee longer than the standard study period increased by one year pursuant to Section 58 of the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., at universities, as amended.

 REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • The student submits an application via university information system EDISON.
  • The application deadline is January 28, 2024.
  • The applicant selects in IS EDISON a foreign university and submits Learning Agreement (hereinafter referred to as "LA"). The applicant writes a list of courses which will study at host university. The list of courses will be made in form of comments in IS EDISON accordingly to instruction of faculty coordinator. The recommended range of selected courses is 20-30 ECTS credit points. In case of a practical internship the applicant submits a work plan called the Learning Agreement for Traineeship. The student who plans an internship addresses the host institution and negotiates all working conditions separately; LA has been agreed and signed directly with the receiving institution.
  • The applicant sends the following documents to e-mail address: eva.hajduckova@vsb.cz:
    • an overview of the study results of the entire previous study (Transcript of Records, hereinafter referred to as "ToR") at VSB-TUO in English, confirmed by the study department of the given faculty (named as “Surname_Transcript”);
    • signed letter of motivation in English addressed to the host institution (named as “Surname_Motivation”);
    • a copy of the proof of passing the exam in English or another language (i.e. a certificate) in which the candidate will study or work at a minimum level of B1 (named as  “Surname_Certificate”);
    • in the case of a study stay, a list of three universities to which the student is interested in travelling (to the priority university the LA is created). Form to be downloaded here. 
    • The required documents are sent in pdf format from student’s VSB-TUO e-mail address.

 THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION IS JANUARY 28, 2024.

THE DEADLINE FOR SENDING THE DOCUMENTS IS FEBRUARY 4, 2024.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Keep the original documents (especially the transcript of results) for later use.
  • Applications submitted incomplete or after the application deadline will not be included into the selection procedure.
  • These are not Erasmus+ study stays and internships.
