VSB - Technical University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for study stays and traineeships in countries outside the EU with VSB-TUO Scholarship for the academic year 2026/2027.

THE SELECTION PROCEDURE IS OPEN FOR:

  • study stays and traineeships (outside the EU) for the academic year 2026/2027

Detailed information on how to apply can be found in the Rector´s Directive for the VSB-TUO Scholarship.

THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLIES TO:

  • study stays at partner universities outside the EU
  • traineeships at a university / host institution primarily outside the EU - students look for the host institution and agree on the conditions of the traineeship by themselves (the traineeship should take place for at least 1 month).
  • summer and winter schools at partner institutions both within and outside the EU
  • It is not allowed to apply for a mobility in the country of origin.

 SCHOLARSHIP:

  • The amount of the scholarship is assessed in the Rector´s Directive in Annex No. 1. The daily / monthly rate is determined by a country. 
  • The amount of the scholarship for a practical internship or short-term studies (summer or winter schools) in a country not listed in Annex No. 1 will be assessed and approved individually according to the financial demands of the stay by the Rector of VSB-TUO.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • communicative knowledge of English or another language in which teaching / work takes place at the host institution is required; the minimum language level is set by the sending faculty or host institution (e.g. a partner university in Colombia requires a certain knowledge of Spanish),

THE OFFER IS NOT INTENDED FOR:

  • students who are charged a study fee for studying longer than the standard study period increased by one year pursuant to Section 58 of the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., at universities, as amended.
  • students who would like to travel in their 1st year of Bachelor studies

 REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • The student submits an application via university information system EDISON.
  • The applications can be submitted from January 26 to February 13, 2026.
  • In case of a practical internship, the applicant submits a work plan called the Learning Agreement for Traineeship. The student who plans an internship addresses the host institution and negotiates all working conditions individually; LA has been agreed and signed directly with the receiving institution.

  • The applicant sends the following documents via email to

     
    • an overview of the study results of the entire previous studies (Transcript of Records, hereinafter referred to as "ToR") at VSB-TUO in English, confirmed by the study department of the given faculty (named as “Surname_Transcript”);
    • signed letter of motivation in English addressed to the host institution (named as “Surname_Motivation”);
    • a copy of the proof of passing the exam in English or another language (i.e. a certificate) in which the candidate will study or work at a minimum level of B1 (named as  “Surname_Certificate”);
    • in case of a study stay, the applicant submits a list of three chosen universities (named as “Surname_Universities”);
    • The required documents are sent in pdf format from the student’s VSB-TUO e-mail address.

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 13, 2026

ORGANISATION OF THE SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The selection procedure will take place in the form of a personal interview before the committee and a review of the submitted documents. The interview will be held in English or, if needed, in the main language of the country where the mobility should be taking place.

SUBMITTING THE SCHOLARSHIP REQUEST:

  • A Scholarship Request (including annexes) can be submitted once the mobility is approved by the rector, no sooner than 60 days and no later than 7 days before the mobility start date, via the Mobility Department.
  • The Request must be submitted together with the Letter of Acceptance from the host institution where the exact mobility start and end dates will be specified.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Keep the original documents (especially the transcript of records) for later use.
  • Applications submitted incomplete or after the application deadline will not be included into the selection procedure.
  • These are not Erasmus+ study stays and internships.
