Before you enter the Accommodation office...
At the time the students move in, usually from 1.9. until the start of classes at VŠB-TUO, the registration point is open, which is located in front of the Accommodation office. Here, please present your ID card (or passport) and identification card (if you have already received it at the Card center).
If you have not yet obtained the identification card from the Card center, bring it to the registry at the accommodation office as soon as you receive it. Identification card (IC) is necessary to submit every time you enter the building! The card is used to identify person by employees of the Accommodation Services, to enter the VŠB-TUO dormitory buildings and to obtain certain services, such as the rental of washing machines, vacuum cleaners, for the change of bed linen in the Rental of beddings or for the use of self-service laundry.
At the registration point, they will check your personal information and payment of the deposit. From the staff of the registration point, you will receive an ordinal number, a move-in card and Foreigner registration form. Both forms must be filled out before entering the Accommodation office. As soon as your ordinal number appears on the relevant display, it is an instruction for you to enter the Accommodation office.
If you arrived outside of the Accommodation office hours, you will receive the keys from the AB reception staff. You will also receive Foreigner registration form from the reception staff. Give the completed form to the reception staff. Come to the Accommodation office on the nearest working day if you have an approved addendum to the contract, or it is necessary to settle matters concerning accommodation.
Entrance to the Accommodation office...
At the Accommodation office, hand in the ordinal number and the filled-in forms - the move-in card and Foreigner registration form. The staff of Accommodation office will check the Housing contract (electronic contract) signed by you, or they will settle the changes regarding the accommodation with you. Based on the move-in card, you will receive a room key in the following room of the Accommodation office, if you have not already received the keys upon arrival at the AB reception.
Always present your ID card or passport when you arrive at the Accommodation office.
After picking up the key I will go to the Rental of beddings...
The Rental of beddings is situated on the ground floor of the building C, entrance door is located between the lift and the reception. Here you will show your Housing contract or IC and get bed clothes, if necessary, a bed-cover, too. The bed clothes shall be changed according the time plan (exchange of bedding) published on the notice boards in your building or on internet pages, usually every three weeks. Please bring your IC with you every time you visit the Rental of beddings.
I have obtained the bed clothes. And now I will go to my room...
The room number is stated on your Housing contract, e.g. C219, i.e. building C, 2nd floor and door with the number 219. The keys that you got are for entering the corridor door, then for the inner door of the room and in same cases for the wardrobe etc. Number of the keys can be different in each building according to the equipment of the room. Do not lose the key! In the case of losing the key, you shall pay a fee for changing the lock in amount of 2.590 CZK.
I'm in my room. Is everything all right?...
After entering your room, check the equipment of the room, the corridor, the bathroom and the toilet. Is everything all right? If you find any problem, report it to the receptionists, your building manager, your housekeeper or through the Defect log in the ISKAM system (https://iskam.vsb.cz/), i.e. after logging in to the ISKAM system, select the "Defect log" item from the "Accommodation". If you don’t do so, you might be asked to pay for all damages and defects found later.
When you move your things to the room, use space reasonably. Think about the fact that you will have other roommates.
I would like to use the internet connection...
The buildings A, B, C, D, E have the internet connection. You can find all information about internet connection here. The first step is having the "Students ID" created at the Card centre in the main university building.
What services can I use?…
- laundry, dryer room
- kitchen
- study room
- bicycle storage
- gymnasiums
- smoking room
- lending of the vacuum cleaner, irons
- buffet, pizzeria
Most of these services are provided by the receptions. You can also contact your building manager if necessary.
I would like single accommodation…
You can also apply for single accommodation. If the capacity allows, this might be assigned to you. This is an additional service in case we have enough spaces available. For this reason it cannot be arrange in advance but can be arranged after moving in, if possible.
How can I pay for accommodation?…
Accommodation is paid for the previous month (e.g. in October you pay for September). There are also some additional charges for services (like washing, visitor in rooms, penalties etc.) therefore we are unable to calculate the exact price in advance. But you can input some amount of money in advance if you like and the system will reduce the amount regularly every month according to the exact price.
The deadline for making the payment for the current month is the 15th of the following month. You will be charged a penalty for late payment of 500 CZK after this date.
You can pay by credit cards, by bank transaction (please note this can take several days so be careful about the deadline), by EPS and in cash. The payment in cash is charged 50 CZK. The most convenient method of payment is bank transfer in form of direct debit arranged via czech bank account (in czech "INKASO").
What should I not forget?...
We would like to inform you that the whole area of university campus including the Hall of Residence area is non smoking. Smoking is permitted only in designated smoking rooms. Please, keep SILENCE at night from 11 pm. to 6 am. and keep your rooms CLEAN and tidy.
