Each person interested in accommodation at VSB-TUO dormitories must submit an Application for accommodation to the Information System of Dormitories and Student´s Canteens (hereinafter just "ISKAM"), to the waiting list of the selected academic year. It is also necessary to pay a deposit within the regular deadline for submitting the application (those interested in accommodation from the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic in the amount of CZK 4,000, from abroad except the Slovak Republic in the amount of CZK 8,000).

To submit an application in the ISKAM system, follow this manual "Instruction to apply for accommodation".

VSB-TUO student (already has a password from SSO)

If you are interested in accommodation, it is necessary:

1. Complete enrollment in the study

  • When enrolling in the study, you will receive the necessary login details - username and password from the SSO system (single sign-on system).

2. Submit online "Application for accommodation"

NEW VSB-TUO student (electronic study application) or employee of VSB-TUO

If you are interested in accommodation, it is necessary:

1. Submit the electronic study application

  • New foreign VSB-TUO student (except SR) will use the same login and password as in the electronic study application.

2. Submit online "Accommodation application"

  • Log in to the dormitory information system ISKAM https://iskam.vsb.cz/Login. The method of log in is addressed in the manual "Instruction to log in and orientation in the accommodation system ISKAM".
  • Submit your Accommodation application into the correct waiting list in the part Application for accommodation.
  • When submitting the application, the student (it only applies to students of exchange program, e.g. ERASMUS) chooses by ticking the appropriate box whether he/she wants to stay in the dormitories only during the winter semester (1st semestr). If the box is not checked, it is assumed that the student will be in residence for both semesters.

3. Pay the reservation deposit (deposit)

  • As the confirmation of serious interest in accommodation, the applicant shall pay the reservation deposit by 14 days after submission of the Accommodation application.
  • The deposit is paid in this amount:
    • students from the Czech and Slovak republic inc. employees VSB-TUO and Ostrava University CZK 4,000
    • foreign students except students from the Slovak republic CZK 8,000
  • Payment can be made in the following ways:
    • via the EPS payment gateway in ISKAM. We recommend this method especially to foreign students. They avoid paying high bank fees.
    • The variable symbol is generated by the ISKAM system, you can find it in the Basic information section.

4. Set up the date of moving in

  • The date of moving in can be determined when submitting the application for accommodation. It is always a working day only.
  • Due operational reasons, the staff of the Accommodation office may change the moving-in date you entered.
  • The specified date of moving in on the Housing contract is the mandatory date of entry into the dormitory.
  • Students who are unable to come to the Accommodation office on the day specified in the Housing contract may be accommodated by other persons on the basis of a power of attorney, see https://www.vsb.cz/ubytovani/en/about-dormitory/documents/

5. Room selection

  • Room selection is possible in the ISKAM system in the submitted application and will take place according to the deadlines set for the given year.
  • Room selection will be available to students who currently live at the dormitory (booking a currently room, or choosing a new room) and new first term students of Bachelor´s studies and consequent Master´s studies from the Czech Republic and Slovakia who do not live at the dormitory.
  • Due to the operational reasons, the staff of the Accommodation Office may change the reservation of the selected room.
  • Method of assigning rooms to foreign students (except students from the Slovak Republic) will be determined in the document "Decision regarding the accommodation" which will be sent after the application is approved.

6. Sign the Housing contract

  • The Housing contract will be signed electronically via the ISKAM system after selecting the room and setting the date of moving in to the dormitory.

7. Moving in the room

  • Moving in takes place only on working days during the office hours of the Accommodation office.
  • Use always the same document in areas of the dormitories (ID card or passport - the same which you used for the registration).

8. HE and SHE couple accommodation

  • When submitting an application, write in the Other requirements: I am interested in couple accommodation with the partner's surname and first name.
  • Inform us immediately about submitting an application by e-mail: accommodation@vsb.cz.
  • The staff of the Accommodation Office will select a room for those interested in couple accommodation.

9. Single rooms

  • Only accommodated person who live in dormitories at the time of application can apply for single accommodation.
  • Requests for single accommodation will be received by the Accommodation office staff until 15.5. of the given year (see the Accommodation time schedule for the given AR)
  • The form can be found on the website https://www.vsb.cz/ubytovani/en/about-dormitory/documents/.
  • The staff of the Accommodation office will notify the satisfaction of the request no later than 25.8. of the given year (see the Accommodation time schedule for the given AR), by e-mail:
    • VSB-TUO students to the university e-mail
    • other students to the personal e-mail specified in the Application fro accommodation 
  • Requests for single accommodation will be granted only in case of available capacity of the dormitories.
  • Other persons interested in single accommodation will be allowed to submit an application from 1.10. of the given year (see the Accommodation time schedule for the given AR). 

10. Cancellation of the Accommodation application, Housing contract, deposit return

  • It is possible to cancel the reservation (Application for accommodation) in writing by email to .
  • If the student has paid the deposit, does not start the accommodation and notifies the cancellation of the start of accommodation by 25.8. of the given year (see the Accommodation time schedule for the given AR) or by 31.1. of the next year, see the Accommodation time schedule for the given AR (applies only to exchange students who applied for the summer semester only), his/her application for accommodation will be canceled and the deposit will be returned in full within 60 days from the specified date of accommodation to the current bank account specified in the cancellation request accommodation.
  • If the student has paid the deposit, will not start the accommodation (in due date) due to not obtain the visa for exemple and he/she is still interested in the accommodation, he/she has to notify it by 25.8. of the given year (see the Accommodation time schedule for the given AR) or by 31.1. of the next year, see the Accommodation time schedule for the given AR  (applies only to exchange students who applied for the summer semester only), to Accommodation office by email: . We will keep the reservation.
  • If the student can´t reach the dormitory by the 30.9. of the given year or by 28.2. (29.2.) of the next year, the student contact us again by 30.9. of the given year or by 28.2. (29.2.) of the next year and follow instruction according to the part "Late moving-in".
  • If student cancel the accommodation application due to not obtain the visa, he/she send us the official letter from the Embassy or his/her coordinator confirms to us that the student will not start his/her studies. Only after that the deposit can be refunded.
  • If the student has paid the deposit, does not start the accommodation and does not notify the cancellation of the start of accommodation by 25.8. of the given year (see the Accommodation time schedule for the given AR) or by 31.1. of the next year, see the Accommodation time schedule for the given AR (applies only to exchange students who applied for the summer semester only), the accommodation place expires and the applicant for accommodation will be charged a cancellation fee according to the valid Fees and penalty price list in the amount of  CZK 3,000.
  • Students whose accommodation request has been approved:
    - after 25.8. of the given year (winter semester) or
    - after 31.1. of the next year (summer semester)
    and the Decision on accommodation has been sent, they can cancel the request within two calendar days without charging a cancellation fee. Otherwise, the accommodation will be canceled and the accommodation applicant will be charged a cancellation fee in the amount of CZK 3,000 according to the valid Fees and Sanctions price list.

Students of other universities or other persons (non-student)

If you are interested in accommodation, it is necessary:

1. Register into the dormitory information system ISKAM

  • Make the registration on the website: https://iskam.vsb.cz/Registrace/RegistraceISKAM
  • After successful registration, you will receive an email with a link to set a password.
  • Students of other schools, or other persons (non-students) will use as login the e-mail and password they created during registration.

2. Submit online "Application for accommodation"

  • log in at the address https://iskam.vsb.cz/Login.
  • Submit your application into the correct waiting list in the part Application for accommodation.

3. Other requirements

  • If you are a student of another university, it is necessary to provide proof of study, preferably on the day of entering the dormitory or no later than 30.9. of the given year. The study certificate can be uploaded as part of the application to ISKAM.
