Summary
The subject contains basic knowledge about the systems of mass transportation of persons, their mutual comparison and the possibilities of their involvement in regional integrated transport systems. It comprehensively informs about the design of the transport system and the role of mass passenger transport systems on the area's transport network. The main parts of the subject are the main technical and legislative principles of building and operating integrated transport systems and the design of the necessary transport infrastructure. The student will get an overview of the development of individual types of mass transport and the ways and conditions of their mutual integration.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the course are basic professional knowledge and competence in the area:
Define public transport systems, describe their main tasks.
Derive and explain the differences between individual systems and derive a system of integration.
Apply theoretical knowledge to a specific design of any system of public transport.
Analyze strengths and weaknesses of all types of public transport and categorize them in terms of suitability.
