International Students and Academics Support Services

VSB-TUO is home to International Contact Point for international students and academics. International Contact Point is an office and meeting space dedicated to providing assistance services. It acts as a help-desk for services such as duties after arrival, visa/residence, work permission, intermediation of tax consulting, healthcare assistance, dealing with insurance companies and a variety of other issues. Besides assistance on specific matters, International Contact Point helps give students and academics the peace of mind in knowing they have a dedicated advocate and single place to go to help solve problems and realize opportunities on both the campus and the community at large.

Counselling for International Students, Academics and Researchers

VSB - Technical University of Ostrava intermediates counselling and psychological services. Psychological services are provided for free and are confidential, short-term professional counselling to international students, academics and researchers by an external psychologist.

Looking after your health and wellbeing is essential. Life at university can be exciting and interesting, but can also bring some challenges such as adjusting to a new environment and the general stress of student or working life. Sometimes it can be difficult to reach out to family and friends, or deal with things by ourselves. Counselling can be helpful during these times.

The consultation is designed to cover a brief overview of your current situation and address any immediate concerns. At the end of your initial consultation, your counsellor will recommend some support options. Some people find that the initial consultation is sufficient for their needs, while others may proceed with regular short-term counselling.

Any information you provide at registration and what you talk about with your counsellor is confidential within the service. This means that everything you discuss with your counsellor is private.

If you want to get the psychologist consultation, you have to register in advance.

Book an appointment! (You will need to login with your university login, e.g., and your password.)
