The main activities of the Department of Public Relations include
- Communication with the media, preparation of information for the media, incl. press releases. Media monitoring.
- Publishing of the Akademik university journal.
- Production of promotional videos and photos of the university, production of their filming.
- Preparation and realization of promotional social events of the university including the academic ceremony of the Ceremonial Meeting of the Scientific Board of VSB-TUO in cooperation with the Rector's Office (graduation ceremonies come under the competence of individual faculties). The main annual events include the Open Day and the university Art and Science Festival.
- Preparation, realization and use of promotional printed materials, presentations and promotional items of the university. Content of the presentation part of the university website.
- Visual style management of the university.
- Promoting the university and placing advertisements to promote the study.
- University social network administration: Facebook, X, Instagram (LinkedIn is managed by the Career Centre of VSB-TUO), including Facebook profiles of Alumni graduate network and Improve the technique.

- Improve the technique – popularization of science and technology, collaboration with high schools, primary schools and other organizations interested in popularizing science and technology as part of their activities.

- Preparation and realization of participation of VSB-TUO at international fairs of higher education in cooperation with the University International Office.
- Cooperation with student organizations (Younie, Hockey Derby, Academic Choir, Brass Orchestra of VSB-TUO) to promote their activities and ensure their events.
- Cooperation with other university workplaces on the above mentioned activities.
- Assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of university marketing communication.
