The Scientific Board is an academic body of the University, which discusses important documents and operates mainly in the area of scientific, research and other creative activities.

The Scientific Board is an academic body of the University. Its operation and scope is set by § 11 and 12 of the Higher University Act, its operation is laid down by the Rules of Procedure for the Scientific Boardof VSB - Technical University of Ostrava.
The Chairman of the Scientific Board is the rector who also appoints and revokes its members. These members are foremost representatives of the branches, in which the VSB-TUO pursues educational, scientific and research work, development and innovation work, or other creative activities.
