Students will acquire an overview of the development of settlement construction with the vast majority of urban construction from the beginning of the establishment of settlements to modern-based cities. Urban theory. Athens Charter and contemporary urban development, mass housing construction, especially extensive construction. |
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |

The student will get an overview of the development of settlement construction with the vast majority of urban construction since the beginning of settlements - the oldest city of Jericho, organic settlements in Malta, Sardinia and Central America. Fertile Triangle - Mesopotamia, Turkey, Nile. The headquarters of the Sumerians, Babylonians, Assyrians, Hittites, and Egyptians. Archaic Greece - Crete, Mycenae. High Greece - Athens, Sparta, Corinth, Hellenic Greece, Pergamon, Roman Empire and cities from Great Britain to Syria, prehistoric, Celtic, Roman, Germanic and Slavic settlements in the Czech Republic. Fortified settlement. Medieval cities of Italy, France, Germany, Russia. Medieval grows in the Czech Republic. Medieval cities based in the colonization phase. The influence of the Renaissance on the construction of cities. Baroque Rome. The development of Paris. The Development of London. Development of Prague, Brno and Ostrava. Garden cities and utopian urban ideas. Modern urban ideas. Modern based cities. Urban theory. Athens Charter and contemporary urban development, mass housing construction, especially extensive construction. |
