Summary
The course will provide an introductory overview of the problems of spatial information systems with a focus on GIS. Attention is given to geodata, geofeatures and data models. It is also discussed the issue of digital terrain models, satellite navigation and positioning systems, photogrammetry and remote sensing. Analytical procedures and methods are focused on land use and spatial planning.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The course familiarizes students with spatial information systems, especially GIS and analytical tasks to solve various problems in the area, focusing on spatial planning.

2. Determination of the position in space.
3. Time. Different concepts of time. Positioning in time.
4. GeoFeatures. Folder description of spatial objects.
5. Data Models. Data modeling. Data structures.
6. Raster data model. Vector data model.
7. Geodata acquisition, primary and derived geo-data, data quality, metadata
8. Global navigation satellite systems, digital elevation models, mobile geoinformation technologies
9. GIS in urban engineering
10. Territorial Plans
