Summary
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will be acquainted with the course of the concrete structures rehabilitation, from the state of construction, the use of suitable diagnostic methods, through the selection of remediation methods and remediation materials, to the application of these materials.
Course Contents
Definitions and terminology. Standards and Laws. Defects and failures of concrete structures. Types of concrete degradation and concrete structures. General requirements for concrete rehabilitation. Diagnostics of concrete structures. Diagnostic methods. Technical-building investigation. Methods of technical building investigation. Concrete assessment. Methods of choice of rehabilitation technologies. Pre-treatment of concrete and reinforcement. Methods and technologies of concrete and reinforcement protection. Rehabilitation materials - types, properties and requirements, methods of application. Grouting. Secondary protection of concrete structure. Defects in rehabilitation. Rehabilitation control. Practical examples.
