Summary
Subject deals the problematics of decision making and risks in civil engineering. Student will also learn the basic terms and theoretical knowledge of the decision making processes and risks in civil engineering. Integral part will be gaining knowledge of used risk methods and decision making methods, including using multi-criteria decision making.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the theoretical and practical basics of decision making and risk management in construction; carry out a practical risk analysis of processes on selected examples.
Course Contents
• Theory of decision making and risk analysis, risk types, basic terms, identification and qualification of danger, risk quantification, decision processes.
• Danger, source of danger, perception of danger, failure.
• Risks in pre-project and project preparation of buildings.
• Risks in the process of building realization and in the process of using the building, it´s maintenance.
• Risks in the process of the time after lifetime of a building.
• Lifetime of buildings, technical, moral and economic.
• Wear of buildings, lifetime of buildings and their parts.
• Methods of risk analysis, expert methods, multi-criteria decision making.
• SWOT analysis
• UMRA- universal matrix of risk analysis.
• The use of experts, expert activity, defects, damage and expression of time independent magnitude of damage
