Summary
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will be able to assess the possible risks that can occur in technological processes both in normal operation and in non-standard situations (faults, deviations from normal processes and the influence of human factor) not only in the production but also transport and storage of hazardous substances. It may be a risk of fire, explosion (chemical, physical) or leakage of dangerous substance (flammable, explosive, toxic, etc.). Students will learn to analyze individual technological processes (eg heating, drying, transport of materials and others) and after their evaluation the students will be able to define appropriate preventive measures. Students will be introduced to principles of primary, secondary and tertiary (structural) protection against explosion and will be able to apply individual types of protection to technological processes. Acquired knowledge will be applied to selected technological processes, their risks and possibilities of preventive protection.
