Summary
While studying the course, students will apply the already acquired knowledge in the field of chemistry of combustion processes, physical chemistry and heat transfer. Using this knowledge, students will gain new knowledge of combustion processes, heat release during combustion, heat transfer during fire and the dependence of combustion processes on room ventilation. Students will also deal with the issue of fire spread in buildings and natural spaces, the spread of fire through radiant heat and ventilation of buildings. Last but not least, they will acquire knowledge of computational principles of extinguishing process.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the course is to master the basic principles of fire behavior in enclosed spaces and in the open spaces. The acquired skills are primarily necessary for further study in the field of fire prevention and fire repression.
