Summary
The basis of each graduate is the ability to orient in various types of fire extinguishers used by fire protection units, the ability to plan and assess in the various stages of construction their operation of the most effective firefighting equipment and media to maximize results. The primary basis of fire safety of buildings is usually the implementation of systems focused on sources of drinking or utility water from public water mains or internal water mains of industrial areas and industrial zones.
Students will be acquainted in detail in lectures and exercises with various types of fire extinguishers, the basics of hydrostatics, hydrodynamics and hydraulics and the theory of construction of water supply systems, their operation in standard and crisis situations.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the basic technical means, materials and media used during firefighting interventions. In individual lectures, students will gain information about various types of fire extinguishers, their use in practice, research, construction and operation of water supply systems for public use and internal water supply systems of industrial areas and industrial zones in standard conditions and in crisis situations. Based on the acquired expertise and their understanding, they will be able to identify the risks that threaten these systems, discuss them and organize activities to eliminate them. After performing basic risk analyzes and synthesis, they can defend their new solutions to the problem, organize further direction of development and evaluate its results.
