Summary
By teaching the course, students will understand the importance and function of building structures and then apply the technical requirements for fire protection of industrial buildings (production spaces, technological equipments, warehouses, etc.). They analyze the conditions of evacuation, the possibility of the spread of fire in the industrial building and the surrounding area, apply the requirements for fire intervention, apply elements of active fire protection (fire safety equipment aimed at the protection of persons, animals and property with an emphasis on ensuring the conditions for successful fire intervention).
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the subject is clarifying the basic requirements for fire safety of industrial buildings a technological equipments in terms of location, layout, design and materials. The subject makes the student familiar with passive and also active elements of fire safety in structures. The students can integrate acquired knowledge in working experience.
