Summary
The course continues on the subject "Thermomechanics". The subject insightfully deals with types of heat transfer, steady-state/unsteady-state one/multi dimensional conduction, natural and forced convection, radiative heat transfer.
The knowledges can be applied to the calculation of radiant heat load for a building, expert opinions etc.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will intimately learn about types of heat transfer - conduction, convection and radiation. These knowledges are essential for right understanding of other special lessons of the study programme “Fire Protection and Industrial Safety”.
Course Contents
- Types of thermal energy transfer.
- Steady state conduction and heat transfer.
- Unsteady state heat conduction.
- Heat exchange by convection - convection out change of state, convection during change of state.
- Radiation heat transfer- radiation in closed systém, radiation in opened system, view factor.
- Radiation from gases, vapours and flames.
- Thermal screening.
- Heat exchangers.
