Summary
The control and function’s disturbance in particular organ systems during disease state from the point of view of knowledge of physiology.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the subject is to make students familiar with physiological and subsequently pathological functions of man’s organism.
Course Contents
- Health and illness, sleep, stress, biological rhythms, immunity, allergy
- Body fluid regulation and disorders of water and acid-base balance
- Metabolism and metabolic carbohydrates, proteins, fats, purines
- Nutrition, vitamins, nutritional disorders
- Physiology of blood, blood disorders, and hematopoietic system
- Coronary circulation and its disorders
- Atherosclerosis
- Conduction system disorders, arrhythmias
- Physiology of the heart and circulation, heart failure, thromboembolic disease
- Hypertension, nervous system disorders
- Physiology of respiration, respiratory tract disorders
- Physiology of kidney and renal failure, Endocrinology
- Physiology of digestion, digestive tract disorders
