Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the subject is to provide students with general information about civilization diseases caused by chemical and physical factors.

- Risk factors of atherosclerosis and their mutual interaction
- Hypertension - the most common disease of the circulation, cholesterol and its relationship to diet
- Effects of chemical pollutants
- Cigarette smoking as a major risk factor for atherosclerosis and cancer
- Obesity and diabetes
- Alcohol and drug addiction
- Chemical and physical carcinogens
- Cancer: possibilities for influencing lifestyle
