Summary |
---|
In this course receive student knowledge about information system design, with requested terms and problems and also with their practical usage in process of analysis, design and implementation. Student will know how to use SQL practically for selecting information form databases. Theoretically receives information about transaction processing and distributed database systems. |
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |

After course finish student know:
- Basic terms from area of database and information systems,
- know to determine basic IS,
- cooperate on data, functional, and dynamic analysis IS,
- know basic SQL language commands, and is capable to search requested information from database,
- can work with concrete information system from area of Medical care.

Course Contents |
---|
1. Evidence task, basic terms, database, and information system.
2. Data analyses, Conceptual schema, ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram), transaction ERD pro RDM (Relational Data Model)
3. Data analysis in relational database, functional dependencies, normal forms
4. Information searching (retrieval) in RDM, relational languages, relational algebra
5. SQL(Structured Query Language) – commands for data structure definition, commands for data manipulation INSERT, DELETE, UPDATE, basic SELECT
6. SQL – full select SELECT, advanced syntax, multi-table query, aggregation functions
7. SQL – SELECT, sub-query, VIEW, GRANT, REVOKE.
8. Information system desing life-cycle, functional analysis, context diagram, DFD (Data Flow Diagram), elementary functions
9. Mini-specification for elementary functions, structural language
10. Dynamic analysis, state diagram, entity state
11. Database consistence, transaction, log, database recovery, multi-user access
12. Physical data organization, Sequential files, indexes, B-tree
13. Design, Implementation, traffic
14. Medical care documentation, Medical care informatics, Dividing of Medical care information systems |
