Summary
The basic course explains the relevant questions of the switching devices.
Students are acquainted with the principles of the transient processes in
electric circuits and with their force and thermal effects upon the circuit
elements. Further the principles of dc and ac current circuits breaking, the
significance of the protection, the action of the fuses and of the circuit
breakers are cleared up. In the conclusion of the courThise electric contacts and solid state switching are dealt with.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students become familiar with solving of transient effects at electrical circuits, force effects of electric current, basic excercises of heating, master terminology, fundamentals of electric current disconnection, protection and principles of contactless switch.
