Summary
In this subject students acquaint with basic structuring of electrical machine and apparatus, philosophy and law of their function. Part of subject is practical - laboratory part, at which students will verify a theoretic piece of knowledge and test a primary objective characteristics of electrical machine and apparatus.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Student know basic characteristic of electrical machines and apparatus and applies this know-how with the view of theirs use, testing and diagnostics.
Course Contents
1. Types of electric machines. Materials used by electric machines design. Windings in electric machines.
2. Enclosure, shape and cooling. Laws, equations and methods used in electric machines.
3. Principle and description of transformers. Operation states. Equivalent circuit. Phasor diagrams.
4. Three-phase transformers. Winding connection. Operation in parallel. Special types of transformers. Magnetic field of electric machines. Types and function of winding.
5. Use of asynchronous machines. Design types and foundation dates. Function and operation state. Energy bilance of asynchronous machines. Equivalent circuit. Torque.
6. Circle diagram of asynchronous machine. Starting and speed control of asynchronous motors.
7. Asynchronous generator and brake.
8. Single phase induction motors.
9. Influence of harmonics on a asynchronous machines running.
10. Basic terminology of electrical device.
11. Transient effects in switching el.circuit on and off.
12. Solution recovery voltage.
13. Power effects.
14. Thermal effects and cooling.

1.Measurement of short-circuit current on transformer
2.Load characteristic of asynchronous motor
3.Line synchronization of synchronous generator
4.Measurement of temperature rise of low voltage circuit breaker
5.Measurement of let-through energy of circuit breaker in short-circuit connection
6.Pull characteristic of DC electromagnet
