The subject Computer Science Exercise and User improves the computer skills gained through the secondary education. It is focused on the spreadsheet software Excel and mathematical computing software MATLAB. |
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |

Repeat the basic knowledge from secondary school information technology.
Solve the simple exercises from basic information technology using the EXCEL and MATLAB. |

1. Excel: Working with workbooks and worksheets, interface; Introduction to formulas and functions; Logical functions
2. Cell references: absolute, relative, mixed and external; copy the formulas
3. Text functions; Lookup and reference functions
4. Statistical functions; rounding of numbers; Array formulas; Solving the system of linear equations
5. Analysis of the data: sorting and filtering; conditional formatting
6. Creating, adjustment and formatting of the chart
7. Typographic conventions for editing a text with mathematics symbols
8. Introduction to MATLAB
9. Alternatives to MATLAB (e.g. Octave); The MATAB environment; elementary operations (command line)
10. Variables, arrays and matrixes; array and matrix operations
11. Saving the data into a file and loading the data from a file; loops
12. Creating, adjustment and formatting of the chart; Symbolic mathematics
13. The basic commands in LINUX |
