Summary
Subject is focused on discussion of preparations and applications of magnetic materials currently applied in different branches of industry. We will specially restrict our attention to interconnection between microstructural properties and magnetic behaviour of materials. We will analyze amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials, transformer and austenitic steels, thin magnetic films, Heusler alloys, magnetic powders and liquids, and hard magnetic materials.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will be introduced with preparation and basic properties of current magnetic materials used in practical applications. We devote our attention to amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials, transformer and austenitic steels, thin magnetic films, Heusler alloys, magnetic powders and liquids, and hard magnetic materials. After subject graduation student will have basic survey about properties and applications of mentioned materials.
