Summary |
---|
Student will be informed about special terminology and basic definitions and with kinds of disturbances. Rules and standards of EMC are also included into subject contents and also possible ways of active and passive elimination of disturbances. |
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |

To inform students about electromagnetic disturbance and with possible ways of its elimination.
After subject graduation the student will be able to identify, outline and decode disturbing influences in electrical networks and to interprete measured results in relation to valid standards and rules including of solving finding for disturbance elimination and their comparing. |

Lectures:
Basic conception definitions. Special terminology. Standardization and legislation in the area of EMC
Kinds, sources and impacts of electromagnetic disturbance
Harmonics, harmonic analysis
Measurement and evaluation of harmonics
Sources and propagation of harmonics, negative influences of harmonics
Reverse influences of semiconductors convertors on mains
Passive filters of harmonics, filtration and power factor devices
Multi-pulses rectifiers, active filters
Standards with limits and compatibility levels of harmonics
Output filters at frequency convertor
Voltage characteristics of electricity
Voltage unbalance, impulse disturbances, protection against overvoltage
High-frequency disturbances, high-frequency filters
General principles of designing of power devices, systems and instalations from EMC point of view
Exercises:
Preliminary exercise, information about basic standards in EMC
Fourier analysis. Analyzers of mains
Analysis of non-harmonic current
Programm for harmonic analysis in mains. Individual project submission
LC series filter. Parallel resonance in network
Design of filtration and compensation device
Test. Network analysis and design of filtration devices for harmonic mitigation
Principles of designing of power devices, systems and instalations from EMC point of view: aplications, credit

To get information about laboratory rules, presentation of measurement technique for measuring an evaluation of disturbances
Measuring and evaluation of harmonics of non-linear one phase appliances
Measuring and evaluation of harmonics of non-linear three phase appliances
Measuring on electrical drive with AC and DC reactors
Measuring and evaluation of harmonics using passive filter
Measuring and evaluation of harmonics of appliances with multi-pulses rectifiers
Measuring of effects of frequency converter and remedy devices on connected motor
Measuring and evaluation of voltage fluctuation, drop and unbalance
Projects:
1. Individual assignment of parameters of network and appliance. Design of harmonic reduction device and its parameters
2. Compilation of simulation circuit. Evaluation of harmonics in connection with standards in given points of the network |
