Profile of the Programme |

The Master’s programme of Information and Communication Technology includes five branches of study: Computer Science and Technology, Mobile Technology, Telecommunication Technology, Computational Mathematics, and Information and Communication Security. Apart from the knowledge which ensures very good chances of employment in practice, the students are also educated in the relevant theoretical areas. The graduates can continue their studies in doctoral programmes. |

Depending on the chosen branch of study, the graduates possess the knowledge of various areas of informatics, telecommunication technology and computational mathematics, and can apply it in practice. The graduates are also able to perform analysis in the given areas. The graduates possess the knowledge of the so-called soft skills and can apply it in practice. |
Skills: |

The graduates can design pieces of work of a large scope as well as theoretically demanding ones and can implement them as members or leaders of problem-solving teams. They are able to choose the suitable procedure and technology for the solution. In non-standard situations they are able to modify commonly used procedures appropriately. They can compare and evaluate various procedures. They can defend the suggested solutions in a professional discussion. As a team member, the graduate can independently perform very demanding partial tasks. He/she can administer extensive systems. The graduate can draw up extensive texts presenting complex ideas. |

When dealing with problems, the graduates can communicate with people, e.g. with other team members or with customers when specifying the tasks and handing over products. They can manage a problem-solving team, define the targets, determine strategies, choose alternative solutions, present and defend their opinions and chosen solutions, study technical literature, bear responsibility for their decisions and the work of their team, and educate themselves further in the given branch as well as communicate with experts of the branch in a foreign language, especially English. |

The graduates can find employment in various areas depending on their branch of study, both as operating and managerial workers, e.g. in the creation and administration of various software products, in creation and administration of computational systems, in creation and administration of telecommunication and computer networks, in creation of software products for demanding computational procedures, as well as in research, development, consulting and teaching activities within the above mentioned areas. |
