) Atomic physics:
Special relativity (Lorentz transformation and its consequences, relativistic energy and momentum).
Blackbody radiation, photoelectric effect, Compton effect.
Thomson and Rutherford models of an atom, electron cloud, atomic spectra.
X-rays. Particle-wave duality.
Bohr model of hydrogen-like atoms.
2) Nuclear physics:
Basic characteristics of atomic nuclei.
Radioactivity and nuclear reactions.
Nuclear analytical methods.
Elementary particles and fundamental interactions.
Acceleration and detection of particles. |
