Summary
The course is focused on preparation of the experimental part of Bachelor Thesis. Experimental work is usually carried out in laboratories of Departments, which are in charge of the study branch, or can be carried out at external laboratories. Experiments are performed under the auspices of tutors of Bachelor Thesis. Students can also prolong activities on preparation of the theoretical part of their thesis, if it is necessary. In the frame of the course the final version of the Bachelor Thesis will be printed and hand in.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will learn how to solve engineering problems using appropriate experimental facilities. Under the auspices of tutors of their Bachelor Thesis they will interpret gained experimental data. Students will deepen their knowledge and skills obtained in theoretical courses. Students will learn how to apply analysis and synthesis of experimental findings. The output of the course will be a final version of the experimental part of the Bachelor Thesis.
Course Contents
1. Introduction of basic Safety rules at work in laboratories.
2. The choice of a suitable combination of available experimental techniques for solving of the topic of the Bachelor Thesis.
3. Experimental activities of students in laboratories under the auspices of technicians.
4. Independent preparation of the experimental part of the Bachelor Thesis by students.
5. Modification of the content of the experimental part of the thesis based on discussions with the tutor.
6. Preparation of a final version of the Bachelor Thesis and its hand in.
