Summary |
---|
The course focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of technological and technical preparation of production castings. Emphasis is placed on the knowledge of technological design of castings and principles of their economical design. |

- student will be familiar with the principles of technological design of castings;
-student will be able to characterize the basic processes of technological production

-student will be able to apply the principles of technological design in the manufacture of castings;

Course Contents |
---|
1. The importance of technological design and technical preparation for
production of castings in foundries.
2. Technological design cast as an optimal combination of features, quality and
price of the casting.
3. Methodology of technological process of casting. The basic procedure for the production of patterns.
4. Mold making, molding technology, materials and core models. Venting and ventilation molds, loading and downloading forms.
5. Cast holes and cavities, cores and core types, degassing, casting will, studs, stiffeners. Marking castings.
6. The use of computer technology in the technical preparation of production. Methods for Rapid Prototyping.
7. Simulation programs of foundry processes. Simulation, flow, solidification, stress and the internal homogeneity in castings.
8. General principles of good design cast in sand molds cast in terms of performance, download, shrinkage and internal stress.
9. Technological design with regard to technology, design, material, quality and efficiency of production of castings.
10. Principles of construction industry with regard to the technique of molding and core production.
11. Design principles with regard to the setting, volumetric shrinkage of the casting and sizing of risers.
12. Design principles with regard to finishing, machining, casting and editing.
13.Methods of quality control of castings, castings testing, metallographic analysis, mechanical tests
14. Reflections on the costs of production and their reduction.
