Summary
The aim of the subject is to introduce the importance, principles, function and modern tools and approaches of personnel management in a present day industrial enterprise. Individual areas of personnel management are presented to students with an emphasis on internal conditions of production sphere as well as on the external conditions, especially with the respect to the development of the situation on the labour market and in the Czech and world economy. The subject presents enterprise employees as the decisive source of company’s success and introduces personnel management skills in such a scope for students to comprehend how to combine and implement them with the strong respect to specifics of a production company.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Student of the subject will understand the role and principles of human resource (HR) management in the specific environment of a production company, and will get to know the human resource as the decisive source of company's success. Student will obtain knowledge of fundamental personnel activities of performance management such as recruitment, evaluation, remuneration and training and development of employees of manufacturing companies. Student will get to know about the terms and importance of firm's culture and employee relations and will acquire the knowledge of the complex science discipline about labour - ergonomics. Student will obtain basic information about HR strategies and planning with the emphasis on workers position.

2. Contemporary internal and external conditions affecting human resource in production companies.
3. Impact of situation on labour market and employment rate on HR in enterprise.
4. Organization and subjects of personnel management in production companies.
5. Role and content of personnel strategy and planning in the frame of strategic enterprise management.
6. Importance of job specification and job analysis. Modern methods.
7. Ergonomics at work. HR trends.
8. Cycle and steps of employee performance management.
9. Employee recruitment and selections process. Methods and tools.
10. Employee adaptation and dismissal. Outplacement.
11. Employee evaluation and its linkages to other personnel activities.
12. Employee remuneration. Methods and trends. Motivation – tangible and intangible tools.
13. Employee training and development. Methods and trends. Specifics of work force in production companies.
14. Company culture. Employee relations. Employee care.
