Informal learning - max. 60% of credits gained in prior lifelong learning can be recognized, as determined by the Dean of the Faculty.

Qualification Requirements:
Finished higher education in Bachelor's degree programme.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Programme
The program of study is based on theoretical principles of market economy. It represents a balanced link of business economy and industrial management methodology with the necessary technical and technological knowledge. It relies on the philosophy of an integrated system of management of industrial, mainly production systems in metallurgical, chemical and mechanical engineering production - as a prerequisite for their economic viability in a globalized economy. The principles of strategic and process management, the noetic and normative effects of process modelling, accent on quality management system and the utilization of advanced information technologies are reflected in the definition of three synergistically combined fields of study of the program.

Knowledge:
- Principles for management of industrial, especially metallurgical, chemical, and energetic technologies. - Industrial company as an economic system, financial and economic management of an industrial company and its relationships to the business environment, quantitative methods of decision making, modelling and multi-criteria evaluation of company processes. - Advanced conceptions, approaches, methods and tools of the modern quality management and integrated management systems including special statistical methods. - Modelling and simulation of dynamic systems, theory of optimal control, complex control systems on the basis of programmable logic controllers programming of information systems and modern methods of control.
Skills:
- Creation of the concept of entrepreneurial subject strategy, application of tools from the area of economic and financial company management, the application of methods of managerial decision making in the search for optimal solutions of problems, assessment, improvement, and designof company processes. - Creative solving of various aspects in the advanced quality management systems and their integration with the other management subsystems, leading of creative teams for the quality planning and improvement. - Analysis, design and implmentation of automated systems of technological processes in industrial companies by application of modern computer, measuring and automation equipment.
General competencies:
General competences within the scope defined by the national descriptors of the Czech qualifications framework with an emphasis on communication skills, management and organizational skills, ability to communicate in at least one foreign language, etc.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
Industrial and entrepreneurial activity management, financial, marketing, design, and research institutions. Management representatives for the quality management systems, quality engineers in various industrial organizations specialized predominantly in the process and product quality planning and improvement. The field of modernization of technological and production processes by means of automation, creation and utilization of computer networks, implementation and administration of company control systems.

Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
